“Imagine the backroom of a dive bar in a bad neighbourhood where the All American Rejects and Foo Fighters
are chain-smoking, throwing back shots and playing cards. Sound good? Check this Scottish trio out on Warped
this year and secure future bragging rights to your friends for later.” ALTERNATIVE PRESS

“’Puzzle’ is a masterpiece. It is awesome†– Kerrang, 5 / 5
“Serious contenders for the title of Greatest Band in Britain. Essential†– NME
“Finally gives UK rock an album to rival the importance of ‘Nevermind’ or ‘Relationship of Command’†– Rock Sound, 10 / 10
Biffy Clyro will release their forthcoming album Puzzle on September 18 on Roadrunner Records. It’s their fourth album,
however this is their first US unveiling, a bold and ambitious record that will both satisfy their huge and devoted fan base
and win the hearts of countless others, cementing their reputation as the best and most important rock band in the UK.
“Biffy Clyro have served up what thus far is hands-down my favorite album of the year. It’s gorgeous, sprawling,
chaotic and precise all at once. It’s almost too much to absorb in one sitting. Powerhouse anthems such as “Saturday
Superhouseâ€, “As Dust Dancesâ€, “The Conversation Is…†and “Folding Stars†could exist easily next to any of
Dave Grohl or Jim Adkins’ finest moments.†– FMQB
“One of the most significant British albums in a decade.†– NME
Puzzle debuted on the UK album Charts at #2 last month and has since gone Gold —
Biffy is a band who’s had no hype and have got here through fan-power and persistence which is always refreshing to hear.
“When the normal British hype machines jump on board, there are typical genres and sounds that those bands sound like.
Biffy Clyro shocked the hell out of me, as they definitely do not fit that mold. If you could put the catchy rock of Foo
Fighters in a blender with a heavy dose of Muse and a dash of Queen, you’d create the formula that is Puzzle.” – TRIPWIRE
Puzzle is the band’s breakthrough album and has been garnering massive accolades throughout the UK and Europe.
The album is produced by GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Mudvayne, Chevelle, Red Hot Chili Peppers),
who brought the band to his Vancouver home to track, engineered by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Slipknot, Rush, Motley Crue,
Jimmy Page) and mixed in New York by Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Slayer, Jeff Buckley). It’s no wonder with such an
impressive array of collaborators, Biffy Clyro have one foot in cult rock stardom and the other in power-pop sensibilities,
yet remain grimey all in between.
The onslaught of UK press praise for Biffy Clyro is nothing short of massive. The band has been featured on the cover
of Rock Sound and Kerrang:
“Puzzle is a masterpiece. There’s a new name placed in front of a seat at the high table of UK bands and artists.”
– Kerrang! Puzzle rated “KKKKK!”
“The wider music world NEEDS Biffy Clyro – their energy, their passion, their commitment” – Rock Sound; Puzzle rated 10/10!
Comprised of twin brothers Ben and James Johnston and their high school mate Simon Neil, Biffy Clyro formed when
they were teenagers in Scotland and already have three albums under their belts. “Puzzle,” their fourth and most creative
album is poised to be the voice of a new era of British hard rock. A mix of Nirvana meets Muse meets Fugazi, the music
encompasses a masterful combination of power chords, sweet melodies, insightful lyrics crushing riffs, marching beats,
even some orchestral elements courtesy of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra.
“There will unlikely be any albums claiming as many hearts and minds as ‘Puzzle’ this year…an enormous, beast
of a record that will turn this oddball trio into a world class concern.†– The Fly
“’Puzzle’ is going to kick British rock music in the balls so hard that every eyeliner clad, rock star wannabe will
surely run home to fall onto their own swords in shame… ‘Puzzle’ is empathic, honest and real, as well as being a
bloody good rock album…truly exceptional.†– Tuned, 5 / 5
“If you thought that modern guitar bands had no ambition, buy this record. ‘Puzzle’ is a rock monster of an
album with a huge heart, and if there’s a better band in Britain today than Biffy Clyro, we’ve yet
to hear them.” – Guitarist, 5/5
“An album laden with ambition and intent that is their best to date and should see Team Biffy’s ranks swell to gigantic
proportions†– Clash
“Excellent…Chants of ‘Biffy’ will echo around the international arena. Just listen.†– Big Cheese, 4.5/5
“Glorious…the new Biffy is potentially the stadium-hogging act they always wished they could be…The best
thing they’ve done yet.†– Alternative Ulster
“Their best yet†– The Times
Do not miss this band, they’re just too good to ignore!
