Massachusetts’ THE ACACIA STRAIN have confirmed a return trip to Europe with support from Annotations of An Autopsy and Knights of the Abyss, including a show with Converge, Inegrity and Coliseum in Germany. Heading across the pond in July and August, this marks the band’s first return after offering direct support to Hatebreed in April of 2007 and first set of tour dates after THE ACACIA STRAIN’s plans to headlining shows throughout the US on the Sun Your Bunz Summer Tour with support from All Shall Perish, The Warriors, Eternal Lord and Since The Flood.

“I can’t even express in words how excited I am for this tour,” frontman Vincent Bennett says. “This is our first time in mainland Europe, so expect some culture shock on both ends. Annotations and Knights of The Abyss both bring devious amounts of heavy, so this should be a tour to contend with. See you in July!”

Meanwhile, THE ACACIA STRAIN will enter the studio April 13 with Zeuss (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall, Municipal Waste) at Planet Z Studio to record ‘Continent,’ the follow-up to 2006’s ‘The Dead Walk.’ Again handling artwork will be Paul Romano (Mastodon, The Red Chord, Trivium), and one of the pre-production tracks from ‘Continent,’ entitled “Dr. Doom,” is available on the band’s MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/theacaciastrain).

“Technically adept, and perhaps even challenging to the unseasoned metal listener, The Dead Walk is clearly the strongest effort to date from New England scene stars The Acacia Strain.” – Alternative Press magazine

“It’s The Acacia Strain’s rationale that makes them somewhat of a standout: there isn’t an established category called “Heavy As Fuck.” – Unrestrained! magazine

“It could be one of the big extreme releases of the year…the guys have streamlined their sound and their lineup, creating a solid disc heavy on breakdowns and with no shortage of metal riffs all over the place.” – Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles magazine

“Think the oppressive groove of Mastodon with the stodgy beats of Throwdown, and the hellish screams of your childhood nightmares. This is the sort of noise that makes dogs whimper, mountains shudder, babies cry and your mates dance – all at the same time.” – Metal Hammer magazine

“Quite clearly the art of sophisticated bloodthirsty tech metal is entering a new renaissance period and it is albums like this that are leading the charge.” – The PRP
