Dos Lunas Tequila (Anejo)

We have not had too much of an opportunity to review tequila for our alcohol reviews section, but lucky for us, Dos Lunas tequila sent on over a sample of their Anejo tequila. The bottle is the first thing that really shines about the tequila, which looks (in my opinion) like a lipstick tube. Pull off the burnished-metal top and one has a smooth, woodsy-smelling flavor immediately present. After a…

APB – Something To Believe In: 20th Anniversary Release (CD)

The one thing that strikes the listener is that the music contained here is still as fresh as possible; there has been no dating of this material, nor can this be seen as merely a stepping stone from punk to the alternative music of the nineties. If this album were released as new material today, there is no doubt that the dorks at Pitchfork would be creaming their collective jeans.…

2K Sports MLB Front Office Manager (Xbox 360)

There have been a number of video games that have provided at least some option for players to control and built their own teams throughout virtual years, but no game that I can easily recall has been developed that has as its primary goal this coddling and building of a team. 2K Sports have attempted to do this gargantuan task with MLB Front Office Manager, a next-generation title that will…

Cheers: The Final Season (DVD Set)

Cheers is one of a few shows that stayed strong, even as the show wound down in the 1992 – 1993 season. Cheers: The Final Season captures this and showcases another interesting thing. This is the fact that a typical show’s runtime was much longer season-wise then (23 episodes are present on this DVD set, where most shows sputter out in the 15-20 episode range). This 4-disc set ensures that…

a.P.A.t.T. – (L.P.)

I get it. The band is trying to be weird and yet retro-hip with this album. The first track is “The Man Returns from the Hereafter…”, and the only thing that really sticks out about this track are the multiple vocals that assault the listeners at points.

Veev Acai Spirit (60 Proof)

We have gotten a number of bottles of the major types of alcohol (Gin, Rum, Tequila, Whiskey, and Vodka) in the last few months. However, what we have not received much of are types of spirits that look to break free of the overarching typology. VeeV looks to do just that, but has a major hill to climb before it will be recognized as such. First off, despite labeling upfront…

Antonio Montana & Nitro – Threatening Behavior (CD)

Now, why exactly a rapper would need to censor themselves on a review copy of an album is beyond me. The opening track of “Threatening Behavior” is incredibly solid, with the flows present really getting individuals into the disc even at the earliest strains. “Whatz up witcha” does not have all of the fury and fire of the original, but an interesting backing beat and a s till above-average flow…
