Incase is pleased to premiere the second installment of Room 205 with La Sera, the solo project of Vivian Girls’ Katy Goodman. A few days before embarking on La Sera’s first UK tour, Katy stopped by Room 205 – along with hired guns Jennifer Prince and Jonathan Weinberg – to blast through a few songs from Katy’s upcoming full-length on Hardly Art. This week, Incase has unveiled the second song from that session – “Never Come Around.” The first song, “Devils Hearts Grow Gold,” premiered last week. Both are available today for viewing and audio streaming through Room 205’s virtual home www.goincase.com/room205/. The third and final performance will air Monday, January 17th.
Room 205 is a rehearsal space in Downtown Los Angeles that has been converted into an audio recording studio. As a means to foster goodwill between artists, music lovers and Incase, Room 205 will play host to touring and local bands who will each perform three songs and sit for casual interviews.
Inside Room 205, visitors are able to watch intimate performances and interviews, stream audio of the tracks and view photos of the sessions in the improvised space filled with recording equipment, sunlight and abundant creativity. Previous episodes of Room 205 feature Abe Vigoda, Crystal Antlers, and Puro Instinct. All are available at www.goincase.com/room205.
About La Sera
Since joining all-female punk trio Vivian Girls during the spring of 2007, vocalist/bassist Katy Goodman’s dreamy DIY talents have sent waves of admiration throughout the independent music community. After touring the world, releasing a handful of well-received records, and starting the label Wild World with her Vivian Girls band mates, Katy played in the short-lived dream-pop band All Saints Day and released a hard-to-find self-titled 7″ of spectral pop tunes. In February 2010 she began working on fresh material for her new side band, La Sera. According to Goodman, the project’s inspiration springs from an attraction to ethereal choral vocals and pop hits of the 1950’s. Indeed.
