2013 proved to be a big year for Chicago five-piece The Orwells who released two EPs, “Other Voices” and “Who Needs You”, performed on Later With Jools Holland and toured on their own and with friends throughout the US and UK, bringing their riotous live show to a growing group of passionate fans. 2014 is set to bring the band even more success, with their US TV debut slated for this Wednesday, 1/15 on Late Night with David Letterman followed by a tour with Arctic Monkeys kicking off on 1/30. The Orwells will headline a national US tour with a stop at New York’s legendary Bowery Ballroom on 3/6, finishing in their hometown on 4/1. US headline tour tickets are on sale on Friday (Jan 17). Full list of tour dates below.
Just to make sure that the year starts off right, the band has released a NSFW version of the video for their single “Dirty Sheets” directed by Eddie O’Keefe (brother of guitarist Matt). Expect the release of the band’s highly anticipated debut LP, with tracks produced by Chris Coady (Smith Westerns, Beach House) Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Bombay Bicycle Club) and Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio) this coming summer.
