Space Apaches Smokin’ Voyages CD Review

In My Mind is a fun track that links together desert rock, jam bands, and Southern rock approaches into something that is tremendously affecting. The talent of the band’s constituent elements as well as the unified front that they provide listeners make this into a must-listen.

kuTumba – Sacred Earth

“Om Tare” is a wholly immersive track from Australia’s Sacred Earth.  From the onset the act is able to create a musical landscape that elicits comparisons to a desert clime.  As the composition continues to play, the rich flute and string dynamic that is created ensures that listeners are on the edges of their seats.  The track continues to evolve, bringing in a perfectly intertwined duet of vocals.

R10T Interview

Hello, R10T. In a few sentences can you provide our readers some information regarding your musical background and career so far? Before R10T, I formed a band with two other people who were looking for a guitarist  for a metal core band. The music was probably a lot more closer to progressive metal. Oktoberfest (Sprecher Brewery)

Oktoberfest, the latest from Milwaukee’s Sprecher Brewery, pours with a dark brown to mahogany coloration. The beer has a small amount of off-white to tan head that is fairly persistent. Comprised of Alice in Chains frontman Layne Staley, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Screaming Trees’ drummer Barrett Martin and Walkabouts’ bassist John Baker Saunders – all Seattle residents riding high on the success of grunge at the time – the side project ran from 1994 until Saunders death in 1999. Though they only put out one record,…

Devil’s Reach (Cape May Brewing Company)

Cape May Brewing Company’s Devil’s Reach pours with a hazy, goldenrod to yellow color and a small amount of wispy head that dissipates quickly. There is a small amount of carbonation and a tart nose that issues forth from the beer. A good amount of grain and a sharp alcohol note make for a complex array of flavors; the crispness of the resulting brew is one that will keep individuals…

Giraffe Trajectory CD Review

I Don’t Care is a perfect introduction to fans, as the effort showcases the vibrant side of the act while leaving just enough play for Giraffe to be able to expand upon this first effort. The track blends together traditional and alternative, calling back to The Donnas, The White Stripes and the power-pop of Boston  and Cheap Trick. The deliberate and driving beat of I Don’t Care establishes a quick…
