We were gracious enough to receive a beermail from Nashville, Tennessee’s New Heights Brewing Company. Enclosed (along with some coozies, stickers, and coolers) were the brewery’s imperial stout Navel Gazer (and a Coffee/Coconut variant) as well as their Rye India Pale Ale Tryestar.

I recently had the pleasure of indulging in Navel Gazer imperial stout from Nashville’s New Heights Brewing Company. This rich and flavorful beer packs a punch with an impressive ABV of 9.3%, but it’s the combination of its mouthfeel and delectable chocolate and coffee notes that truly sets it apart. The moment I took my first sip, I was greeted with a velvety-smooth taste that immediately made me sit up and take notice. Navel Gazer coats your palate with a luxurious texture, creating an indulgent drinking experience. The beer glides effortlessly across your tongue, leaving behind a pleasant and lasting impression. The brewery has masterfully balanced the flavors in this brew, resulting in a harmonious blend that tantalizes the taste buds. The chocolate notes are deep and decadent, linking together more than a bit of toasted malt while the slight bitterness contributed by the IBU add a delightful complexity to the overall taste.

What I appreciate most about the Navel Gazer is that the chocolate and coffee flavors are distinct yet integrated seamlessly into the beer’s profile. Each sip reveals a new layer of complexity keeping your taste buds intrigued and engaged. The beer strikes a harmonious balance, ensuring that neither the chocolate nor the coffee overwhelms the other. Furthermore, Navel Gazer boasts a remarkable depth that is truly satisfying. As you savor each sip, the beer unveils subtle nuances that further enhance the overall experience. The chocolate and coffee notes interplay with hints of roasted malt, creating a robust and full-bodied stout that lingers on the palate. To top it all off, Navel Gazer finishes with a gentle warmth that is both comforting and invigorating. The higher ABV is well-hidden, and instead of overpowering, it provides a pleasant and balanced warmth that adds to the beer’s overall appeal. In conclusion, Navel Gazer from New Heights Brewing Company is an imperial stout that is able to provide something for a wide swack of beer fans. If you find yourself in Nashville, make sure to seek out Navel Gazer and indulge in a truly exceptional stout experience.
