The track itself is not complex, allowing Roy’s vocals to weave a story as the acoustic guitar sets up a timeless backing beat upon which the lyrics can reside. Hints of Johnny Cash and Elvis can be located along with hints of Miles Davis scattered throughout. The ability of Roy to deftly move between blues, classic rock, and soul in the space of two and a half minutes is nothing less than impressive.
