Mill 77 Brewing’s Sauced Double IPA is a standout in the hazy IPA category, offering a blend of tropical and citrus flavors with a solid 8.2% ABV. It pours a hazy, cloudy light yellow, immediately inviting with its thick, opaque appearance. Aromatically, it leans into mango, passion fruit, and bright orange notes, enhanced by the use of Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops, which are popular choices in New England-style IPAs. Sauced continues to deliver its tropical promise with bold orange, mango, and passion fruit flavors, balanced by a slight sweetness. This sweetness is offset by a clean, hoppy finish, ensuring that while it’s juicy, it never becomes cloying. The beer also has a soft, pillowy mouthfeel, which enhances its smoothness and makes it deceptively easy to drink for a higher-ABV beer.

The overall balance of sweetness, fruit-forward hops, and a touch of bitterness creates a harmonious experience. While the sweetness of the tropical fruits dominates upfront, the hoppy bite comes in toward the end, reminding you that it’s a true DIPA. Sauced is an excellent example of Mill 77’s ability to craft big, bold beers that remain approachable, something that was also matched in the brewery’s Pumpkin Ale.

For those looking for a juicy, hazy New England DIPA that doesn’t overwhelm the senses with bitterness, Sauced is a great choice. The well-rounded mouthfeel, bright tropical flavors, and clean finish make it a refreshing option that holds its own among other New England-style IPAs. Check out Mill 77’s domain and social media website for additional information about the brewery’s product line up, as well as any news that they may be releasing. Sauced is one of our favorite hazy / juicy IPA’s that we have received so far this year, along with Breckenridge’s Juicy Oasis.
