Over the course of the last half-decade, we’ve had the privilege of covering The Dead Daisies’ own music. Crossroads, the Eric Clapton classic, is given new life by the band. The additional layer of guitar fuzz is precisely what the original needs. There’s an organic, dirty feel to the track that better captures the subject material of the song. During this track, the absolutely insane guitar work that is such a foundational element to the band is given space to spread its wings. We’ve noticed that hard rock and metal bands have an uphill battle to make their cover version a worthy placement alongside the original, but I feel as if The Dead Daisies have actually improved on the source material.
We’ve covered The Dead Daisies a number of times over the years including articles about their Light ‘Em Up, Slide It In, Radience, Like No Other, Chosen and Justified, and Holy Ground .
