Amepre, best known for their extremely loud and intense live shows, have always stressed a strong importance in the ethics of being a band to support your own scene and convey messages and values they highly respect.
DIY at heart, Ampere’s members have been involved in their scene for a number of years. Most notably, guitarist Will Killingsworth, who also played guitar in Orchid, and Bucket Full of Teeth and who continues to run his Clean Plate record label and Dead Air recording studio where the band records all of their music. He is also currently in the hardcore “super group” Failures.
Much like Orchid, Ampere often borrows some of their lyrics from philosophers and revolutionaries such as Guy Debord. They have preserved some of the “intellectual” punk seen in bands like Orchid, Sinaloa, Native Nod, Palatka, and Current. With Like Shadows, Ampere has once again persisted in their commitment to intellect, art, and sincerity.
