Indie-folk group Sea Wolf – the brainchild of Los Angeles native Alex Brown Church – just kicked off a nationwide tour last week in support of their new album Old World Romance.
After two successful releases (2007’s Leaves In The River & 2009’s White Water, White Bloom), Sea Wolf landed a track on the soundtrack to the 2009 mega-hit film The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Since then, Alex and his band have been working away at crafting what would become Old World Romance. After completing tracking last year, a complete hard drive failure forced them to start over and re-record the entire album from square one.
Months later, they emerged with the ten tracks that make up Old World Romance – arguably the band’s best material to date. A release that Performer Magazine calls “a beautiful album, dark and thoughtful but with bright moments of hope and acceptance,” and LA Times praises for its “lushly languid folk-pop arrangements.”
