Yes, at times it can be as cheesy as it sound. But that doesn’t mean it’s not also highly addictive.
Femme Fatales is the Cinemax anthology series (originally based on a magazine) that harkens back to old noir and pulp fiction, where knock out gorgeous woman were either the protagonists or led to someone’s downfall; That and a little bit of the old Twilight Zone series with the host introducing each episode.
Each 30-minute episode is a standalone story that focuses on a different plot inspired by that entire genre of fiction. The 14 episodes included in this first season feature a slew of attractive women put into dangerous situations and ultimately prove they can kick just as much ass as their tormenters.
While there aren’t any big A-listers popping up in these episodes, there are a revolving door of character actors that will have you scrambling to log onto IMDB to see where else you’ve seen them before (including one episode featuring The Old Spice guy!). This Three-DVD set also includes some great extras like “Making Love: Anatomy of a Sex Scene” and the show’s 2001 Comic-Con panel.
