Slightly Stoopid has been riding high since their seventh studio recording, Top of the World, was released earlier this year. It entered the Billboard 200 at No. 13, Billboard‘s Independent Albums chart at No. 3, and the Rock Albums and Alternative Albums charts at a peak position of No. 4. Now, the band is pleased to announce the video for the album’s title track, which had its online debut on…
It has been about six months since I last heard SSM. SSM last time (on their self-titled full length album) was a band that had talent but did not always turn it into successes on the album. This is a six-song EP of newer tracks. The disc starts with “Put Me In”, a dance-worthy track that unfortunately has the vocals hidden to a fault behind the rest of the…
Can you introduce yourself? How long have you been active? – I’m LexRox and I’m 16 years old. I’ve been singing since I was about 3 years old, but knew I wanted to be a performer when I was 11. Ever since then I’ve been working nonstop on my music career. How does a track move from initial thought to finished effort? – For me, it starts out as just…
We’re very pleased to announce that LA’s one and only Busdriver is preparing a new album for Big Dada, to be released in the first half of next year. To mark this momentous event, we have one of the best free downloads we’ve ever offered you. Busdriver has put together a seven track EP which once again reminds us that, rather than being one of the most eccentric MCs out…
I have been lucky enough to hear of the Teen Idols before I approached this album but not lucky enough to have actually heard them. SO, I cam into this review with no pre-established notions about what either of the bands sound like. This is always a plus for me, as I do not have to go and delete any possible bias I have towards the band before I review…

Each artist will play both nights, with one headlining on Friday and the other headlining on Saturday. The two-night stand marks the first-ever electronic music shows at the historic venue,…
Purchasing a piano should be seen as the time when a family can be said to truly have achieved success. I believe that even beyond its desire as a status symbol, it provides a considerable amount of gravitas to wherever one is living. There is a company that can create Rebuilt Steinway, ensuring that the cost that a family will be out is considerably smaller than if they had to…
Judi’s vocals are hard to get into, being simultaneously shrill and gruff, much like Apocalipstick’s lead, Jackie. If one can imagine it, “Rock This” is an ideological, harder sequel to the soundtrack to “Josie and the Pussycats”, which actually makes sense since the individual who was mainly responsible for “Josie’s” tracks was Kay Hanley (from Letters to Cleo). “I Hate You” moves into the territory of Bitch and Animal,…
Split Habit is an interesting band. While the first track on “Put Your Money”, “Rebel” is a perfect bowdlerized and mollified version of the original pop-punk mold of the Ramones, “City Girl” is a dangerous mix of frat-rock and an extensive Weezer CD collection. However anemic this track is, the sheer fact is that Split Habit is able to go and make the track one that every listener of…
NRG-X Labs has continually created supplements that are heads and shoulders above similar efforts by other companies. It is not surprising to see that their whey protein – Sublime Whey – is another strong addition to anyone’s supplementation. The Sublime Whey is dosed out in 33 gram scoops (two-thirds of that is protein), and only contains 122 calories (18 from fat). I believe that the presence of 2 grams…
Atlus is the first gaming company that has released a Sherlock Holmes-based titles that is good. Previous games (2010’s vs. Jack the Ripper and Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened) were pretty sad; the sheer immersion factor that is present in The Testament of Sherlock Holmes will have players locked in to the game for tens of hours. I believe that the lushly-varied backdrops and sheer amount of clues (useful and…
Tyranny of Goblins is a great addition for players of Dungeon Command. This sub-$40 set contains a wide array of miniatures that can be used as graphical additions to any Dungeons & Dragons command or as a new force to go against Dungeon Command players. Wizards has added enough twists and turns to Tyranny of Goblins that overall strategies employed have to shift; by continuing to provide support for…
Pearl and the Beard is a stirring mixture of three voices, one cello, one guitar, one glockenspiel, one melodica, several drums, ninety-six teeth, and one soul. Following the release of the their sophomore album Killing The Darlings, the band has toured tirelessly: loving to perform live and connect personally with fans. Pearl and the Beard’s energized performance and lush arrangements have been captivating audiences since forming in 2008. The band’s live…
The 6th full-length album from progressive/avant-garde metal band EPHEL DUATH will be released in spring 2013 via AGONIA RECORDS. Album title as well as album art have been set and will be revealed later this year. The follow-up to this year’s On Death and Cosmos EP will introduce a line-up change in the rhythm section. All bass parts have already been recorded by Bryan Beller (Mike Keneally, Steve Vai, Dethklok,…
I was just about ready to discount Spitfire as one of many of the hardcore bands on the scene until the band really got into their own groove. In fact, Spitfire is a furious ac that really takes part in some of the noise that their website alludes to; the scintillating rhythms of the band during tracks like “Dear John” and the spontaneity of their sound really makes the…
Trouble in Mind announce the release of the sophomore album from New Hampshire-based psychedelic jam warriors MMOSS. Only Children will be available for trip-inducing consumption on November 13 and today Pitchfork premieres LP track “Another Dream.” Here’s the first taste of Only Children, “Another Dream”, which features a paced Summer of Love organ and some lovely harmonies. MMOSS – “Another Dream” MMOSS capture the psychedelic sounds of 60s like…
Bang Bars are the best collection of materials that a body needs that we’ve seen in bar form. Where there are countless protein bars on the market, VPX’s Bang Bar combine 30 grams of protein with a full dose of Creatine. The protein will allow individuals to put on muscle at any point of the day, without having to resort to sticky, chunky, or otherwise off-putting protein drinks. Taken…
Nashville trio THE FARM has been nominated for American Country Awards’ 2012 Single of the Year: New Artist for their hit single “Home Sweet Home.” Their 11-track self-titled debut album, which was released on July 17 on All In Records / Elektra Nashville, features the band’s debut Top 20 hit. The album was co-produced by Farmer Nick Hoffman with acclaimed songwriter, Danny Myrick. Written by THE FARM and Myrick, the band performed…
Spitalfield seems to have a lot more coherent effort with this album that they didn’t have the ability to have with their last album. The whole band works together to provide a solid, cogent sound that is at all times radio friendly and poppy, but the question remains whether it is good. Beginning “Stop Doing Bad Things” with the Rush-influenced (at least in terms of bass) “So I Heard…
