Finn Bros – S/T [ADB]

This album is on Discovery Records and it was released in 1995 with 11 songs. This is Indy rock done by two bothers that are Australian. They sound only like one other Aussie band, and that is Midnight Oil. Their influences also include Bowie, and Elvis Costello. This is slow tempoed music. The vocals are alright, but the whole presentation of the music is incredibly boring. The two brothers write…

Fugazi – 88/89 Bootleg and Steady Diet of Nothing [ADB]

I notice about this tape is that the sound is abnormally clear for being a bootleg. Really good old school punk with great riffs, clear vocals, and awesome drumming. The voice of the vocalist is awesomely strange. Fugazi makes me want to mosh, because they are so awesome, even on a bootleg. Fugazi is evidently also a very political band which always makes the songs a lot better. It gives…

Junkyard Prophet – The Price

However, this review focuses on the music of “The Price”, rather than the politics that surround the band. To get a good idea of how the band has evolved over…

Fear – Have Another Beer With Fear [ADB]

1995 Fear Records, and it has 16 songs. These bands are one of the best examples of a old punk band coming back in the 1990s. An anomaly in this band is that they have a black guy in the band. All the parts of this band are great, with excellent vocals and great audible bass, and best of all, funny as hell, sexist lyrics. The songs are very catchy…

The Fallen – Sector 7G [ADB]

Self Released, 1999, 3 song demo. This 4 piece band from California is a kick ass metal band. They can be best described as thrash/death metal, and they’re songs are very catchy and will make you mosh. Typical great guitars with unintelligible vocals that make the whole genre good. They do a little it of symphonic metal, and then just rock balls out. The fallen are very talented, and they…

Leo – Nightmares

Leo – Nightmares / 2007 DreamMakers / 14 Tracks / http://www.leotheband.com / http://www.rockridgemusic.com / Leo is a band that has been able to reach the tars without truly breaking it big yet. While “Nightmares” will change that, Leo has made somewhat of a name for themselves opening up for bands such as Breaking Benjamin and Sick Puppies, along with doing a live set at this year’s South by Southwest.

Exploited – Don’t Forget the Chaos [ADB]

2 songs are recorded in a studio and the rest are recorded live. Released in 92 on Cleopatra Records, with 18 songs on it. The songs have a fast tempo with a driving beat. The sound is very muddy on the live songs, but it still is amazing to listen to. Very good screaming delivery in the songs ,making this a true brit punk band. Political lyrics and screaming always…

Exploding Nimoy – S/T [ADB]

8 songs made in 1995. This is really shitty recorded death metal band. The band has a sound near Gwar and MOD . They cover “Dogyalep” by Brutal Truth. Looking at these lyrics, the songs are supposed to be political, but you cant hear a fucking word they say. As with MOD, The politics in their songs are very misdirected (MOD-Right Wing, EN-Left Wing) The guitarist has potential, but he…
