We have reviewed practically every different type of workout supplement under the sun, but have not had the chance to really go and test out some of the more serious ones. Chain’D Reaction is one of these supplements, something that may not be needed by the average Curves or home gym individual. However, it should be seen as a vital purchase for anyone that is attempting to grow muscle mass.…
There are 17 different artists on this compilation, and for those individuals that might not be the biggest fans of dance and electronic music, the names will not be too recognizable. For me, I was only familiar with Royksopp. The disc starts out with a quick introduction before moving into a Claude Vonstroke song. This song, “The 7 Deadly Strokes”, is a solid electronic song but tends to last for…
MR. BIG will once again unleash their brand of brutal fury on their first U.S. tour in 15 years starting July 30th, in SanDiego at the 4th & B. Returning fresh from a successful run of tour dates overseas, vocalist Eric Martin, guitarist Paul Gilbert, bassist Billy Sheehan, and drummer Pat Torpey, will be hitting the road in the United States this summer in support of the band’s new album,…
Hey, it’s Disturbed and Korn, having a party. And lets see, they invited their screamo cousin to the party. Everything that is churned up on “The Hollow Men” is essentially, note for note, the same that can be heard on thousands of new-rock stations owned by Clearchannel, and while there are times where Rubikon find themselves in a groove, the fact is that this music isn’t incredibly innovative. I’m sure…
Transformers: Dark of the Moon is one of the summer’s biggest films. It only makes sense that there would be a video game that was released to capitalize on its success. However, the game is strong and represents a title that will be in my PS3 for months to come. This is because the title looks to flip genre convention on its head, all while providing players with a fun…

The Con Artist has the supreme injustice of being released straight to DVD, rather than receiving a proper theatrical run. This is not due in any fashion to the quality of the picture, and really does speak to the fact that American audiences will not give a movie a chance if it does not contain sufficient star power. The Con Artist is headed up by Rossif Sutherland and Rebecca Romijn…
The way that this album looked, I had absolutely no idea that the music on “Passion” would have such a dance stomp. Honestly, during both “Intro” and “Fly RRRRRRRobin Fly”, I was half expecting a disco singer to start laying down eir vocals over the violin played by Robin Olson. The disco flavor surrounding the earliest parts of “Passion” is really no surprise, as “Fly Robin Fly” was a Silver…
In the past, we’ve sent out press releases saying Cruel Hand is on tour forever… we weren’t kidding. Today, the band announced that they’ll be headlining their own “Back To School Jam” tour with support from A Loss For Words, The Greenery and Maker this coming September and October. Cruel Hand just wrapped up shows in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. Prior to that, the band toured all across Europe,…
LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” featuring Lauren Bennett and GoonRock is officially the hottest song of the summer as it takes the #1 spot on both the Billboard Hot 100 Singles and the Hot Digital Tracks charts for the week ending July 3, 2011 selling 234,262 and over 1.7 million to date. The track is also a Top 5 hit at both Top 40 and Rhythmic Radio. The VIDEO for the…
Paper + Plastick Records is excited to announce the release of Austin’s raucous rockers RIVERBOAT GAMBLERS new EP, Smash/Grab, on July 12th. Available on vinyl, CD, and digitally, the band will be toting the new EP on their summer US tour with Off With Their Heads, which kicked off yesterday in San Diego at Casbah. The first leg of the tour wraps on July 30th in Cleveland, with the second…
Dora’s Big Party Pack is the latest release by Nickelodeon, and it is a boxed set that contains three different DVDs – Dora’s Big Birthday Adventure, Super Silly Fiesta, and It’s A Party!. This bundled set gives viewers nearly five hours of material, while ensuring that each of the individual releases continue to contain the material that they did when they were originally released. Each DVD has a video quality…
RPM is a slightly-harder edged version of Avril Lavigne. Replace the definite pop influences of Avril with a slightly more rock influence (Bif Naked, Green Day, The Donnas) and you have RPM. While RPM seems to have all of eir politics in order (with liner notes attacking Clear Channel for post-9/11 lists), this music seems to be derivative and just a little late in the game to ride someone like…
The three-year wait is over now that Texas-natives Rapid Ric and Chalie Boy are back with the third installment in their Versatyle Child mixtape series, courtesy of Dirty 3rd Records. Known for touring the world with Slim Thug and Chamillionaire, and now with his own record label, Dew Music Group, it’s easy to forget that mixtapes are Ric’s specialty. Here he stays true to his roots and resumes his comfortable…
After starting out “Best Friends Our Worst Enemies” slowly with their first track “Carabella”, Roden breaks through to their listeners with the very AFI-influenced “Ghosthouse, 1922”. The multiple-vocals of the aforementioned “Ghosthouse, 1922” really make the track crash and break against the ears of listeners, and go off into pseudo-instrumental noodling soon after. “Murder Of An Albatross” is a much more vocally-focused track, and the lack of audible instrumentation (for…
It is the middle of summer, and the temperatures continue to rise. I know that personally, I do not like heavy beers or alcohol as the mercury climbs. Mike’s Hard Lemonade understands this premise, and has released to the market a Lite effort. While ostensibly to corner the market for those that like the more fruit-based malt beverages but are still watching their figures, I contend that the Mike’s Lite…
Following Iced Earth and Borknagar, Century Media Records is proud to welcome back another band under the family’s wings: GRAVE. One of the very first Swedish Death Metal bands alongside Nihilist, Morbid and Treblinka, the band initially released their first demo in 1986 under the bandname Corpse, before they switched to GRAVE in 1988 and throughout all these years, they haven’t changed their style very much, while other companions left…
There are a few different styles that are shown off by Royce at the opening of their “Tuff Love”. The blend of dreamy pop with very funky and electronic backing beats give individuals two distinct ways to see the band. The track is catchy and radio friendly in the God Lives Underwater way, and has a current sound even if the constituent parts of Royce here are slightly older. The…
RACES (formerly known as Black Jesus) formed in the fall of 2009 after singer/songwriter Wade Ryff escaped the sweaty grips of multiple bands, the San Fernando Valley and a real life witch. Originally formed as an impromptu group assembled for a one time performance, this haphazard ensemble of 7 musicians decided to continue playing together and see what opportunities came their way. RACES have recently signed to Frenchkiss Records, who…
