The three-year wait is over now that Texas-natives Rapid Ric and Chalie Boy are back with the third installment in their Versatyle Child mixtape series, courtesy of Dirty 3rd Records. Known for touring the world with Slim Thug and Chamillionaire, and now with his own record label, Dew Music Group, it’s easy to forget that mixtapes are Ric’s specialty. Here he stays true to his roots and resumes his comfortable role as host once again out to live up to his moniker, “The Mixtape Mechanic” by continuously showing he is still a force to be reckoned with in the mixtape game.
After the positive feedback and buzz they received with the first two installments, it seemed only natural for Ric and Chalie to get back in the studio together to try to duplicate some of the creativity that has made them successful in the past. Featuring an impressive cast that includes Slim Thug, Chamillionaire, Mac Miller, and scores of original beats from Beat King, J Starz, and more, Versatyle Child 3 is set to be a strong follow-up to parts one and two. Ric and Chalie have been spending a lot of time together in the studio, so keep your eyes peeled and your ears open for more, possibly bigger projects in the future.
