Another newsprint magazine that has interview after interview, seemingly never ending, but after the first half of the magazine, we are assaulted with another large chunk of material in the form of reviews. The last chunk of the magazine has a few show reviews, as well as zine reviews, a rare presence in most larger punk magazines in the day. What is nice about Toxic Flyer is the sheer amount…

Part II: Greencastle Carnival, Saturday, February 28th, 2004 With GBA, The Good Life. Getting ready for the concert, I began to walk over to Greencastle High School in the most delightful mood, as the weather was unseasonably warm for a February day. I had my portable mp3 player with me, and was able to check out one of the tracks that I was told that the band headlining the show…

Tourist – ¼ size, 16 pages. The whole zine is a cut’n’paste endeavour that is very like the stream-of-consciousness rants popularized by such people as James Joyce. The background pieces fit what is said on the page, and are interesting in their own right. Only truly making sense in tourist are the penultimate pages, which contain a page of thoughts and a page of contact information. Sorry, but I really…

Infinite Undiscovery is the latest RPG release by Square-Enix, being released on the Xbox 360 platform, coming out at the beginning of September in the United States. Perhaps the best addition to the traditional PRG game play would have to be the real-time nature of the game. Where there seems to be a sort of “pause†present in a number of RPGs when an individual goes into the start menu…

GBA, Totally Rejected @ Meherry Hall, Greencastle, Indiana (February 27th) The weekend of the 27th and 28th was one in which music reigned, and my free time was sucked up by a number of bands from the Greencastle area. Even before the first show, on Friday (which I held at an old chapel at DePauw), I had wasted so much time throwing up flyers and shamelessly promoting for it. However,…
in 2004, Eagles of Death Metal launched their wholesome good-graciousness with Peace, Love, and Death Metal, followed in 2006, by the diabolical Death By Sexy. In October 2008 EODM unleash Heart On. Speculators are speculating that the Dream Boy Duo of dance and prance will bring home Olympic Album Gold once again. The EODM formula for fantastic is humm…let’s see…that’s one part Jesse “Boots Electric†Hughes, one part Joshua “Babyduck

Touched By An Anvil #14 – 56 Pages – 1/4th size. By far, this magazine stands out in all departments except that in the spelling, which does show effort. But I kid, and this magazine mops the fllor with the sorry ass of mine. Driven by a lot of humorous material, this magazine is an amazingly fast read, with the time-tested picture background with text overlay! And it even has…
Pretty much, the only familiarity that listeners on this side of the Atlantic would have had with Alabama 3 up to this point would have been through the use of “Woke Up This Morning†as the theme from The Sopranos. Luckily, One Little Indian has released a “greatest hits†for Alabama 3 in “Hits & Exit Woundsâ€. This disc gives listeners a quick rundown of those tracks deemed best by…
