Slush Fund – While We’re Still Ahead [ADB]

Longshot Records in 1999, with 28 songs. 5 white guys play ska-punk for 5 years, and then break up. Pretty sad. It is pretty good for a band that has 3rd wave ska influences. Slush Fund isnt a ska band, but a punk band with a trumpet. Very speed delivery of lyrics, and short songs length make this band great. Some of the guitar riffs on a few of the…

This album has 6 songs of pure punk bliss etched on this slab of vinyl. This is extremely fast punk. The songs on this disc are of such a caliber that it is impossible to not listen to. Sick Of It All – Just Look Around [ADB]

On Relativity Records, with 13 songs. SOIA is metal/hardcore with political lyrics. Really good sounding metal riffs, and some cool bass lines, and great drums all the way through. I compare SOIA to Exodus and Pantera and DRI. The songs on this disc are also really short, going from the longest at 3:05 to the shortest at 1:31. Most of theses songs are more metal then anything, which isn’t bad…

Cut Off Your Hands – Shaky Hands

Cut Off Your Hands – Shaky Hands / 2007 I Am Sound / 6 Tracks / http:///www.cutoffyourhands.com / http://www.myspace.com/iamsoundrecords / Cut Off Your Hands play a brand of energetic indie rock that is first shown to audiences during “You&I”. The jangly nature of this track fuzzes over slightly the intensity of the band’s compositions. The track is sufficiently short to not give individuals a full glance at what Cut Off…

The Shyness Clinic – Sea of Redlights [ADB]

Released in 1998 on Espo Records. It has 12 songs, and i paid nothing for it . TSC uses interesting mixes of noise in songs like “Not if i leave first”, to make a interesting indy album . Spacy, distortion filled guitars mix with a very strong drum beat. The openings for the songs are the most interesting parts of the disc. TSC can sound extremely different from song to…
