Soulja Boy – Soulja Girl (Feat. I15) / 2007 TVT / 2 Tracks / “Soulja Girl†is the latest track by (you guessed it) Soulja Boy. In an attempt to further get the name of I-15 out to the masses, they are featured on the track. This track is a slower, more grind-worthy track. Hints of Jodeci and K-Ci and Jojo are present during this track, even as the more…

1995, on their own label. They can be emailed at StevenDFB@aol.com or called at (614) 341 7423. This tape is a 3 song demo, and the band may have a full album out by now. When i got this tape, I thought a band with the name “Dead Flower Bloom” would definitely be a death rock band. This is a very diverse band, with bits of Korn-Sound, 80’s rock, Indy…

Megadeth – Warchest / 2007 Capitol / 66 Tracks / http://www.megadeth.com / http://www.capitolrecords.com / Megadeth is one of the bands that I first learned about when I got into metal. In fact, one of the CDs that has stuck with me for over a decade (the only other one is Marilyn Manson’s “Antichrist Superstarâ€) is Megadeth’s “Rust in Peaceâ€. It makes sense that Megadeth should get a box set since…
This is a 2 cd set (1 Studio/1 Live) with a 40 Song set list. This is amazing punk from the late 70s and early 80s that successfully blended real Oi!, Gothic, and Noise, to make an amazing album. This is great pissed off/piss drunk punk that you can go wild to. If more pop punk bands would take Crass’es example, then punk music wouldn’t be full of the shitheads…

Junk Science – Gran’dad’s Nerve Tonic / 2007 Embedded / 13 Tracks / http://www.myspace.com/junksciencerap / http://www.nukfam.com / “Slojo†is the first track on Junk Science’s latest album, and the blend of seventies instrumentation with a current type of flow makes for a strong foot forward. The rap styles that are showcased during this CD are points and strong, and are only moderated by a second set of vocals which end…
Farewell will premiere their first video, “First One On the Blog,†off of their Epitaph debut Isn’t This Supposed to be Fun!? via Myspace Video on October 10th. Directed by the Endeavor Media Group (Bayside, Silverstein, Comeback Kid), the video perfectly showcases both the band’s high energy brand of powerpop and rollicking sense of fun, as we follow Marshall, Wil and the rest of the guys to school one day.…
This is a 9 song album on Mayhem/Fierce Records ,and it was released in 1997. The 1st song, “humana” inspired to nightmare is instrumental. Cradle of Filth is a 6 piece band, and is black metal. Primeval screaming goes along well with very melodic guitars and a driving 300 mph drum beat. The guitarist can play some awesome solos. Cradle of Filth is so good that they can go from…

I15 – Lost in Love / 2007 Interscope / 4 Tracks / http://www.i15music.com / I15 is another type of R&B / boy band that is done much in the vein of a B2K. “Lost in Love†is typical radio fare, but the act is really able to hook fans with a catchy chorus and multiple-vocal harmonies. This single features the “Radioâ€, “Albumâ€, “Instrumentalâ€, and “A cappella†version of the track.…

This tape is on Noise/Futurist records, and it was originally released in 1988. The lead singer sounds like Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) and Scott Ian (Anthrax) mixed together. The guitar riffs sound like the Air Guitar riffs from the Bill and Ted movies. The beginning of the tape is kinda boring, but the tape starts sounding a lot better during the middle. This was a great find at NRM in the…

Complier-Bleeding Musiz This was self released in 1999 with 12 songs. This is one of the definatly hardest types of music to put a genre with .As his name implies, Compiler compiles his tracks with use of media altering software and drum machines. Some of his weapons are Cool Edit Pro, Audioforge, Cakewalk, and Hammerhead. These excellent programs, along with a serious demented mind, make a hell of a good…
