Metal Mind Productions presents Hate – a death metal band with blackened death metal and industrial metal influences. The band, created in 1990, has a cult status on Polish death metal scene and is one of the most outstanding artists of the extreme music of today. „The Litanies of Satan†is their live album featuring a recording of a supreme death metal performance from February 2004. The tracklist contains mainly…
The duo Craig Morrison and Graeme Reedie have led a long and distinguished career as flag bearers for Glasgow’s Soma Quality Recordings since 1998. Writing in between Craig’s studio in a small village in the south of France and Graeme’s Glasgow studio. The album opens with ‘Koko’s Song’, a deep and hypnotic tribute to a recently deceased fan from the Bulgarian coastal city of Varna. Characterized by a lamenting guitar…
I don’t know what to categorize this style of music. “Signs of Perfection†shows Burnside Project as an act that mixes emo music with dance music. This is not necessarily like The Sounds or Head Automatica, but is what Blink 182 tried to do with “Alwaysâ€. It is honestly as if the band blended all the New Romantic albums that they had in their garages with an emo style that…
t’s always a special event when Cadenza releases an artist album, given their relative rarity. In fact, not counting copious doublepacks, the Cadenza Contemporary 01 mix CD, and Ricardo Villalobos’ counterintuitively titled Achso EP, there has only been one so far: Los Updates’ First If You Please. Making things even more special, Mirko Loko’s Seventynine is both his debut solo album and his first appearance on Cadenza, all adding up…
Major Lazer (the Jamaican commando who lost his arms in the secret zombie war of 1984 and had them replaced by lazers) lands on US soil this June with some help from his friends and Grammy-nominated producers Diplo and Switch. Presenting stateside audiences with the futuristic dancehall and digital reggae sounds crafted as a soundtrack to a not-so-distant dystopian future, clubs everywhere will be thwarting oncoming evil forces through the…
Noah’s music is gospel-drenched, soulful music…socially conscious, spiritual lyrics that are Biblically versed…poetic and metaphoric love songs, yet at the same time beautifully simple… Put aside any stereotypes you may have about soul or spiritual music. Noah the Genius fuses the two so smoothly and passionately that you can feel both the music and the message, but without feeling like you’re being preached to. He takes an honest approach to…
Opening up “Leave No Ashes†with “Heart Full of Blackâ€, Burning Brides’ 70s-rock influences are shown very loudly, most noticeably their love for The Eagles, Rush, and Sammy Hagar. The track is practically just an update of the music that can still be heard on classic rock stations all throughout the United States, albeit with a better recording. The strung-out nature of “Come Alive†is infuriating, mixing together the Kurt…

Delusions of Grandeur Again, a remake from the 1992 demo. A rawer twist to this absolute classic ballad type song. Not a Nightmare Starting with a heavy intro which turns out to be a strong and catchy song. Damned Religion Heavy with a driving beat. Controversial lyrics dealing with society and religion. Just what Artillery are known for! Uniform Remake of a song that the band had recorded, from their…

While Burden of a Day is a hardcore band, they seem to have taken the lessons provided them by current emo acts and on their “Pilots & Paper Planes†and create a soundscape that individuals will actually pay attention to. Previous hardcore acts would just focus on the vocals, drums, and guitars, but Burden Of A Day focuses on the interplay between all of these disparate elements. “High Noon†is…

In constructing this new album, legendary rock icons UFO composed more than 35 new tracks in advance of hitting the studio, 13 of which were short-listed and produced at the studio, and 10 of them making the final cut. The final product; the band’s new album, The Visitor. The current UFO lineup continues to consist of the three original members, Phil Mogg (vocals), Paul Raymond (guitar, keyboards), and Andy Parker…
The tracks on “Lookaftering†really flow like honey; Bunyan comes through with a distinctive, not-quite falsetto set of vocals. These vocals are bolstered by some of the most emotive and honest guitar work ever produced, and in some sense actually provide Bunyan with a second set of vocals to play off of. Every piece of instrumentation on “Lookaftering†is quality-controlled and checked until the best fit is allowed to finally…
The honeymoon may be over, but for The Handsome Family it’s just beginning with a a west coast tour beginning July 14th in Seattle, to support the release of their new album and recent sold-out dates on the east coast in April. Touring extensively throughout the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, their live performances sometimes consist of up to a six-piece band and other times just band members…
