The emotional opening to Anorexic Beauty Queen’s “This Little Light†presses on the emo sound, but does not go into the melodrama that a number of acts in that genre get hung up on. This means that the vocals actually match the output of the rest of the band, and make for a balanced act (instead of the vocal-heavy approach of acts like Dashboard Confessional). anfnewsacctwww.neufutur.com

“…His high-pitched voice recalls a young Graham Nash by way of Elliott Smith……has enough understated soul to give Conor Oberst a run for his money.” – Rolling Stone anfnewsacctwww.neufutur.com

The melody of a track like “Growing Into Myself†takes its sweet time coalescing into something appreciable. The low-key backing beat of the track gives the song a decidedly early0nineties sheen, while Annette’s vocals seem like a lesser Madonna. There is no lack of talent in arrangement here on “Growing Into Myselfâ€, but there might be n issue with the visualization of where the disc should go. anfnewsacctwww.neufutur.com

“She’s incredible. She’s like Flack, Nina Simone, Ella, she’s something else. She’s like religion. It’s heavy, vibrational music. I’ve never heard a human being sing like this. Her voice is wildly, finely expressive. It’s so singular. It’s hip-hop, the way that she approaches it rhythmically, she’s got so many jazz influences. It’s something else and you can just feel it. With “Georgia Anne Muldrow Presents Ms. One (Someothaship) she’s like…

Don Henley in a punk band would be probably the most adequate description that I could give to Ann Beretta. On “Three Chord Revolutionâ€, their new revolution, they use the same type of tempo and strung-out California that Don perfected on eir’s seminal hit, “Boys of Summerâ€. Imagine if Mike Ness was doped up on Quaaludes, and you have an idea of what Rob’s vocals sound like. There is absolutely…
As 2006 saw a new wave of indie dance-rock hit the radars, with bands like the Klaxons, CSS, Crystal Castles and The Teenagers quickly hijacking the attentions of music lovers and critics all over the world, an up and coming five-piece from British Columbia named You Say Party! We Say Die! (or YSP!WSD! for short) were quickly developing a name for themselves minutes over the Northern borders of Canada (where…
The Weight’s 2009 release Are Men marks an interesting evolution of the group’s sound. What was once a singer-songwriter-with-backing band is now simply a band. Of men. anfnewsacctwww.neufutur.com

Originally formed in the great bounteous Midwest region of the United States “Mahjongg” began as a simple experiment between The Grid and The Sphere. To attract the brood orientation of the young mind, Mahjongg knew the only way to spread Kontpab’s message was by forming a musiK band. This ever-expanding Sect uses “irratainment” to teach the warnings and Revelations of the almighty god Kontpab. Kontpab basically warns the human race…

I’ve heard of Animal Collective in the past but have never been lucky enough to hear any of their music. While the first track on this EP “It’S You†starts off in a benign way, the graduate increasing tempo and loudness of the harp at regular intervals really fills the track with a sound that bolsters the operatic female vocals contained within. The song structure is somewhat simplistic (mainly minor…
