The whole nine yards.”- WFPK “Urgent, intimate, and hopeful, “I Want You To Keep Everything” is the kind of song that makes you want to get out and live.” – LimeWire “It is a crowning achievement…

Ambient soundscapes without much in the way of beats or anything tangible to grab onto, Electronic Barnacle Island plays its way off as a more modern Brian Eno or Vangelis disc. As a result, this disc is one that will double equally well as music to sleep to, or just zone out on. Each of the tracks on “Deeply Faulted†is an composition in and of itself – it is…

I guess that I shouldn’t be surprised in any way when “Bubblewrapped†starts out with a lot of electronic influence. The band’s first track on “Bubblewrapped†is “First Rushâ€, and it blends together acts like HelloGoodbye, Lords of Acid, and The Rapture into something that has a current sound even as “Pretty Hate Machineâ€-era Nine Inch Nails sneaks in and out during the track. The band is very diverse, and…
Our favorite ladies, The Coathangers, are going at it once again, taking the party on the road in support of their SSR release, Scramble. Well, here’s yet another shot of the band that was claimed to be the savior of schlock-rock, tying together both city-mates The White Stripes and perennial shit-pile Andrew W.K. Containing the “Radio Edit†of Dance Commander, Electric Six also include a much less energized (and more palatable) unreleased track in “I Am Detroitâ€. Sounding more like a mix between mid-seventies Kiss and David Bowie, “I Am Detroit†suffers much less…
Artillery, one of the best thrash metal bands around, returned in June with a brand new studio album. “When Death Comes†is their first studio release since the 1999’s “B.A.C.Kâ€! They’ve just confirmed new dates in Hungary, Switzerland and Slovenia: September, 17th, Blue Hell, Budapest, Hungary September, 18th, Provitreff, Zurich, Switzerland September, 19th,…
Sinister, one of the most underrated death metal acts ever to emerge on the 90’s metal scene. In 1988 they began their quest for metal annihilation, recording several demos and EPs which slowly paved the way for future success. Today, after releasing eight LPs, Sinister can stand proudly next to such giants as Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel and Death – their music is a sheer definition of death metal…
Electric Frankenstein has been around since 1991, and this album (Burn Bright, Burn Fast) really is an intense assault on the average listener’s senses that really showcases a band that is completely comfortable with their sound. Loud guitars mix with rough-hewn vocals (by Steve) to create an always raucous type of rock-driven punk. The metal-influenced guitar lines that are so commonplace on “Burn Bright, Burn Fast†really wear down the…
Atlanta’s own, independent emcee Señor Kaos returns with another hit, appropriately titled “Automatic Classic.†The song reminds listeners of an era that emphasized good beats and good rhymes. The Automatic Classic video premiers tomorrow (8.28) and is directed by Mike Moore. Filmed on the streets of Atlanta, scenes include Hip Hop shops the Beat Lab and the Bench, a graffiti backdrop by graff artist “Lerch” and appearances by emcees 4-Ize…

The tours will criss-cross the continent from October 2nd through the 29th. Consider yourself warned: “A Gallows concert is a demolition derby with no rules…volatility and unpredictability.†– Inked Magazine “[Warped Tour’s] best…
A Clear Blurr is releasing an album called Trigonometry, which comes out September 29th. These NJ based teens just played a handful of dates on Warped Tour because they won the Ernie Ball battle. Their album was produced by John Collura (ex-Atari’s) and is an energetic display of what these recent high school grads are capable of. Showing their love for Blink 182, Sum 41 and The Starting Line this…
Playing a form of lysergic and almost entirely instrumental rock that draws its DNA from the sounds of classic Krautrock, prog, long-form improvisation and metallic heaviness, SUBARACHNOID SPACE has attracted a fervent and dedicated following over the past decade around albums on established independent labels such as Relapse Records and Strange Attractors Audio House. They’ve delivered their ominous, ethereal riffage, soaring fx-laden guitars and pulsating rhythmic propulsion on the road…
Another hardcore band, this time from the other coast-California instead of Boston. 11th hour consists of 4 people playing at breakneck speed. This band is influenced more toward the metal end of the spectrum. The screaming vocals are the perfect match for the noisy drums, performed respectively by Albert Goad and Doug Hopkins. The guitars, played by Ian Cross and Brendon Shipley, are amazingly melodic for this type of band.…
