The Hanged Man, the project of Stockholm based musician Rebecka Rolfart (previously of Those Dancing Days and Vulkano), has revealed the video to its latest single ‘The Island’. The video is directed by Sheila Johansson and Michelle Claesson Eismann and ‘The Island’ is taken from The Hanged Man’s acclaimed debut mini-album ‘First Quarter Moon‘, out now via Kning Disk/Telegram Studios.

‘First Quarter Moon’ is a defining first step for one of Sweden’s most exciting new acts, with six tracks in just over twenty-five minutes, ranging from dark pop to cinematic psychedelia. The mini-album includes The Hanged Man’s debut single ‘First Time Dreaming’, which was released in September on PNKSLM Recordings, together with five new tracks – including a sole contribution with lyrics in Swedish; the gorgeous pop of ‘Räven’.

The Hanged Man’s ‘First Quarter Moon’ is out now via Kning Disk/Telegram Studios on limited 12” vinyl and digitally.

“she can create whole worlds within a pause” – Stereogum
“‘First Time Dreaming’ boasts a Mary Chain-style bassline, which forms the gravelly spine of the song’” – NME
“psychedelic and up-in-the-clouds, there’s also a sinister edge to ‘First Time Dreaming’” – DIY
“‘Into The Night’ smacks of 80s wells of emotion; it’s all smooth pads, glistening Spanish guitars and twinkling synths” – The Line of Best Fit
