Johannes Linstead – Be My Girl

Johannes Linstead’s Be My Girl is a tremendously emotive rock track that has sizzling guitar work and passionate vocals. The tautness of the instrumental side of things is a key reason for this single’s success. The aforementioned guitars and drums work well with Linstead’s vocals, making the effort into something that would easily work on a classic rock station. The harmonies of Be My Girl are such that listener swill easily be able to sing along after a few listens. The track builds off of the lounge rock of performers like Jimmy Buffett, Santana and a bit more of the rock side of The Beach Boys. The unique style that the track is imbued with is due to the ability of Linstead; the ability of Johannes to ferry the effort through quicker and slower sides will have listeners firmly on the edges of their seat. Of particular note has to be the stellar guitar work that is laced through Be My Girl. While the more sedate sides of the track dominate the song’s run time, the presence of a blistering guitar riff is the perfect way to amp up the momentum and keep listeners as interested in the composition as they were when the first few notes of Be My Girl began.

Be My Girl is the lead single from Linstead’s latest album, Azul. The album is available from iTunes and will be available for purchase on or around September 29th. If the overall feeling of Azul is similar to the tropes and topics that Linstead broached during Be My Girl, we are confident that the album will be a must-buy. Even if you are not typically a fan of the more festive and sunny styles of rock music, the technical skill that is exhibited by Linstead during Be My Girl will be enough to sell you on the act.
