Candlelight Records in cooperation with AFM Records confirms June 10 as the US release date for Parasite of Society, the new album from reformed German trio Headhunter. Featuring the famed line-up of Schmier (Destruction), Schmuddel (Talon) and Jorg Michael (Saxon/Stratovarius), Parasite to Society is an instant throwback to classic German metal. It is the band’s first new recording in nearly 13 years.
Schmier (vocalist/bassist) is the man behind the engine. His persona and drive is what has made Destruction the musical force it has come to be appreciated for nearing two decades. With Headhunter, the metal icon is given opportunity to reach outside his normal musical environment; more “power†than “thrash†and adding an immediately identifiable dash of humor. Parasite of Society is a classic good time in waiting.
