New York’s Lady GaGa is taking the disco-dance-pop-rock-infused grooves that made her a household name on the Lower East Side club scene to the road for the first time.

“My new show will be a bit more fine-tuned and more polished than what people have seen from me before,” says GaGa, who will be taking a DJ and two dancers with her on this club tour. “It’s still theatrical. The disco ball and hot pants are still there, but I’m taking it up a notch. I’m trading in my clear stripper shoes for some [Jimmy] Choos this time. It’s going to be a great time.”

Don’t just take GaGa’s word for it. Women’s Wear Daily describes her as an “exhibitionistic performer who is turning heads.” The Los Angeles Times has described her music as “a drunken Madonna, Peaches, and Kylie Minoque recording session with lots of sticky champagne spilled on the demos.” W magazine declares that GaGa “defies categorization.” And, Music Monitor Network has called the singer a “phenomenon in the NYC gay scene.”

GaGa, who counts the gay community, dance lovers, rockers, club kids, and pop aficionados as fans of her music, will also be performing at the Logo network’s first ever NewNowNext Awards on June 7, 2008, which airs that night at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Logo and on LOGOonline.com.

The singer’s first single, “Just Dance” – an infectious, upbeat summer dance pop track – is nominated for the “ArjanWrites.com: Brink of Fame Song Award.” The NewNowNext Awards will be hosted by Candis Cayne (Dirty Sexy Money) and will feature special guests, performers, and/or presenters including Janet Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, John Cameron Mitchell, Heather Matarazzo, and Christian Siriano of Project Runway. Meanwhile, the music video for “Just Dance” debuted on the Logo’s new music show, “NewNowNext Music,” and on Artist Direct last week, while the single – featuring Colby O’Donis – has been making waves in dance-clubs and on dance radio all spring. “Just Dance” is on Lady GaGa’s forthcoming debut album, The Fame, which drops later this summer on Streamline/Interscope Records.
