Fox has dug deep in their vault to find a number of additional features, and this is why the 24 Season One Special Edition was created. First, it is enclosed in a plain metal holder, with a LCD watch screen set at 24:00. Secondly, this edition has an extra disc that contains a number of new features. This means that, beyond all 24 shows in the series’ initial run, there is an introduction by Kiefer Sutherland that really provides individuals with a better idea of how the show came to be and what the individuals were looking to do with the show. Furthermore, there are some seriously in depth commentaries to be had, especially those on the premiere/pilot episode and the finale episode.

Director Stephen Hopkins and Photography Directory Peter Levy lend their views to the pilot, while Hopkins and Leslie Hope (Teri Bauer) discuss the implications for the season finale. However, for individuals that are all about 24, the golden goose of this special edition has to be the alternative ending to the finale. If individuals thought that the original ending was impressive enough on its own, they have not even seen what is in store for Jack Bauer et al in this alternate ending. “The Genesis of 24” is a documentary that really showed me a lot about how the show came to be. Originally, the plan was to have the show be based in similar hours, but have it be about a wedding.

A collective epiphany hit the relevant individuals, and the show morphed into a covert ops drama, and the show that individuals know today. The only confusing addition to this set has to be the vignettes from The Rookie, which had to do with Degree creating a similarly-premised short form show. However, the fact that individuals will likely be in the house for three-fourths of a day watching this show should be enough of a reason to spring for this box set, and to buy subsequent sets if they are given the same care as the Season One Special Edition set was. Check out the stores for the Special Edition run that has the coupon on it; for a limited time, individuals can get $15 off instantly if they end up buying another season of 24 along with the 24 Season One Special Edition.
