This is the last season of Drawn Together that is set to air. To be honest, it is a pretty good decision that this show was put out to pasture, as pretty much any parody of reality TV shows had been explored and properly dissected. Saying that, this season of Drawn Together is stronger than were the previous seasons of the show. Of particular note in terms of the episode include “Breakfast Food Killer”, where Wooldoor becomes addicted to cereal after becoming the latest in food mascots (imagine the similar scene in Boogie Nights for an idea how the episode went).

The parody of Indiana Jones at the end of the episode, as Tool and Wooldor free African workers, is done up in a way that is beyond funny.  The two part “Lost in Parking Space” works in the end time thought of a number of Christian sects, where Princess Clara feels as if eir roommates have been taken off to heaven in lieu of eir. The resulting “evil” actions of Clara, egged on by who ey perceives in Satan are over the top (as per usual). For someone of my age (24-28), the “Drawn Together Babies” episode will be the top of the heap in its parody of “Muppet Babies”.

Whether it is Drawn Together’s aping of the show or just the morbid events that take place in the episode, the homage to the show represents a high part in the episode. The “American Idol Parody Clip Show” really is the only down note, and is particularly sad since it was the last episode of the season. Individuals that are fans of Drawn Together should find a way to pick up this DVD set, as it provides individuals with extended and uncensored versions of the episode. Two of the major contributors to Drawn Together – Dave Jeser and Matt Silverstein – provide a commentary into “Freaks & Greeks”, “Lost in Parking Space, Part One”, “Drawn Together Babies”, and “Breakfast Food Killers”. The karaoke versions of some of the songs from the shows provide an odd final bonus to the DVD set, which is a great sendoff to a solid Comedy Central show. If you were a fan of the show, make sure to pick up this DVD set.
