Dream Pinball 3D (Wii) / 2008 SouthPeak / http://www.southpeakgames.com /

One of the first games that I remembered playing on a Windows box had to be “3D Pinball”. While the graphics were more than decent for the time, they suffer considerably in the current period. Similarly, the last pinball game that I played on a console had to be Sonic Pinball, and who knows how long ago that game was released? Anyways, Southpeak Games has decided to release Dream Pinball 3D for the Wii, which provides a number of features that will keep individuals playing for a long time.

This means that, much like a real pinball machine, there is a multiball feature that allows up to 3 balls on the board at any one given time. There’s also 6 different machines, rivaling even the best stocked arcade in existence. However, there are a number of additional features that make this pinball experience even better than the real thing. This is because individuals can play a multiplayer version of the game with up to four players throwing in. There are 7 different camera positions which individuals can use to make sure that they are playing the game the most accurately that they can, and the balls themselves are made of six different materials – ivory, marble, gold, oak, steel, and walnut – that provide different angles and necessitate different methods for playing the game. To ensure that the game approaches the level of realism that is similar to the experience of actually being at a pinball table, the HDR technology makes everything that much more sharp and crisp.

I understand that it is hard to find pinball tables in this day and age, but it is not too terribly hard to find a good pinball game, especially considering that Dream Pinball 3D is out on the markets. Trying to one-up the highest score, along with all the different twists and turns that your ball can take, will provide individuals with hours, if not days of time that they can log on this game. I can understand if SouthPeak releases a sequel to this game that merely just changes up the tables – the graphics are at that level that I cannot imagine them being added any further. After Super Smash Brothers and other games lose their appeal, Dream Pinball 3D will ultimately remain the perfect game to unwind with when one gets out of their job.
