After the release of their new EP, ‘Tempted To Do Nothing,Â’ and opening shows at CMJ for The Dears, Los Angeles outfit Eulogies are ready to take their lilting California pop tunes to some non-coastal parts of the US. The band will cover some serious mileage in the next few weeks – one stint with Darker My Love, one with The Duke Spirit – so nowÂ’s your chance to catch them live. Eulogies are soft-spoken, old-souls… kindred souls, the likes of which are not often seen these days, and their songs reflect a well of life experience – the depths of which are only hinted at in the bandÂ’s name.Â
“I see a lot of these songs as being really positive,” band leader Peter Walker says. “Instead of ‘Woe is me,’ I’m lifting myself up and I’m trying to share that a little bit. In general the subject-matter can be dark, talking about loss or being alone, but really it’s all optimistic.”
