Mute is thrilled to announce Junip’s upcoming North American tour dates. A preview of the captivating performances awaiting audiences on tour may be viewed at Baeble Music. (Junip Live At Knitting Factory Brooklyn, June 2010). Composed of Elias Araya, José González, and Tobias Winterkorn, the Swedish trio Junip is hitting the road in support of their full-length Fields. Released via Mute last month, the album has had a bevy of positive adjectives attached to it. “Beautiful,” (NPR), “Seductive,” (Rolling Stone) “Exhilarating,” (Spin) and “Terrific,” (Pitchfork) are just a few.
The album is also holding steady in the Top 10 on the CMJ College Radio Charts, and the song “In Every Direction” has been chosen as Starbucks’ “Pick of the Week”! Patrons may pick up a card or redeem the song in-store on the Starbucks Digital Network at any participating US Starbucks location starting October 26 (for 1 week). http://Starbucks.yahoo.com/promotion
In conjunction with their upcoming tour Junip is teaming up with retro-photo iPhone app Hipstamatic for a photo contest themed on the title of the album Fields. Contestants are encouraged to be creative and shoot their own interpretation of FIELDS (i.e. a field of wheat, magnetic fields). The Grand Prize includes a Crosley turntable, Junip merch, Mute vinyl pack, Skullcandy headphones, Hipstamatic prizepak, Stance socks, Neff Headwear, Hard Candy iPhone case and VonZipper sunglasses.
