This summer is shaping up to be a big one for Wavves. Last week MTV announced that the band will serve as the guest composer for the first season of the network’s new scripted comedy series, “I Just Want My Pants Back”, for which music legend Nic Harcourt will serve as music supervisor. The pilot episode, which aired as a sneak peek following the “2011 MTV Video Music Awards,” featured the exclusive world premiere of their new song “I Wanna Meet Dave Grohl.” The series will officially debut on MTV in January 2012.
Wavves is back in action this week, dropping another track from his forthcoming Life Sux EP. Just as summer is starting to wrap itself up, the band is ready to share “Nodding Off”, a cut from the new EP featuring Best Coast. “Nodding Off” is beach-ready tune that will be perfect to have stuck in your head for the final days of summer. Listen to “Nodding Off” now through Ghost Ramp or Pitchfork.
Wavves’ new EP, Life Sux will be released by Wavves’ label Ghost Ramp on Tuesday, September 20th and features “I Wanna Meet Dave Grohl,” as well as collaborations with Best Coast and members of the band F*cked Up. Life Sux is now available for pre-order, too.
