This is the Blu-Ray version of the August and Everything After: Live at Town Hall performance that was released in August of this year. Key tracks on this recording include Round Here, Mr. Jones, Rain King, and A Murder of One. The Counting Crows pull out a number of less-remembered songs with this recording, which add a slightly different context to the larger hits than would normally be present. For example, Sullivan Street and Ghost Train are present in the lead up to A Murder Of One; the more intricate stylings of Sullivan Street will get listeners connecting the different influences and styles that the band brings to the table during the latter half of the performance.

The video quality is absolutely superb; it is the dynamism of the camera shots that make August and Everything After into a must have disc. This video footage goes far beyond merely keeping up with the different riffs and rolls; rather, there is a quickness and accuracy to the cute that ensures that viewers will not miss a single note.

The Blu-Ray’s audio fidelity is without reproach in the same way – if one takes out the crowd element from this releases, one would be hard pressed to know that this is not a studio release. Make sure to pick up August and Everything After from your local well-stocked music store or find it at countless online retailers – Counting Crows are still incredibly active, and this brief look into the band’s live side will undoubtedly show this fact.
