The Drive EP begins with the titular track, a song that updates the work of the Goo Goo Dolls into a mature and intensively emotive format. The vocals have that little bit of punk stylings playing at the periphery, which provides the band with a truly unique style. The fullness of the instrumentation is shown as well during Drive, with a resplendent bass line adding that much to the track. Out of Love has an acoustic-sounding guitar line interact with the aforementioned bass line. The drums that are scattered through Out of Love provide the final part to the puzzle, creating a rock track that could easily make it over to the pop charts. While the track is able to showcase Engloria’s diversity of styles, I feel that the song is much more than that. Out of Love provides listeners with the energy that they need to finish up the EP; Made For You both provides closure as well as clues about where the band may yet go.

Starting off slowly, Made For You is a track that is nuanced and allows the band to continue to spread their wings. Little more is needed during the initial strains of the song than an acoustic and a set of vocals. As things begin to snowball, Engloria is able to flesh out this composition into something amazing. The song ends in four minutes, but the band’s wide sound and sure vocals will impact listeners for a much longer time.

This is a release than in the course of three tracks provides listeners with volumes about the band. I would like to see how the band differs in the live format; the tremendous energy exerted in these recordings should be amplified there. Check this EP out whenever you have a moment.
