Grammy-nominated Atlantic recording group Skillet can now add “Drummies Award” to their list of notable achievements. Drum Magazine’s annual “Drummies Award” named Skillet’s Jen Ledger this year’s “Rising Star” in company along with drummers Chris Dave (Adele), Mike Johnstone, Dana Filloon (Junius) and Luke Holland (The Word Alive).
Skillet was named as one of the highest ranking artists featured in Billboard’s annual “The Year In Music” issue for 2011. Their album, Awake, which is nearing Platinum certification, debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart. The band will return to the studio this Fall to begin recording their forthcoming studio album with renowned Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson (Bon Jovi, Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Gavin DeGraw, My Chemical Romance, Three Days Grace).
