Two major forces in entertainment today, David J (Bauhaus, Love and Rockets) and Rob Garza (Thievery Corporation), have teamed up to launch 18-year old McKenna Frazer, whose father is a friend of David’s. She originally recorded a rendition of David’s hit “I’ll Be Your Chauffeur” as a gift for her father before she left for her gap-year in India. The song found its way to David J, who was so impressed with her voice and the charm of her interpretation that he took her to the studio and recorded a fully mixed and mastered rendition, co-produced by Rob Garza. McKenna also plays ukulele on the track to compliment her mezmerizing vocals. This past Sunday, Anne Litt of KCRW added McKenna’s single “I’ll Be Your Chauffeur” to her playlist.
