Track Listing:
01. Candling
02. I’ve Got Seven Eyes
Heart Of Hearts is the solo work of Greg Hatem. The Baltimore-based project began recording in 2010 in a residential warehouse space onto a dusty old 8-track tape machine. Two years later, Hatem has traded in his worn tape heads for shiny new digits to produce his newest work.
“Candling” is the first single off of his new full-length album “My Society,” available September 25th on Bleek Records. The song details the process of candling, or shining light through an egg to determine its fertility. In the lyrics, Hatem attempts to comfort and encourage the newly conceived life to enter the light beyond the eggshell. The single also features an exclusive B-Side “I’ve Got Seven Eyes.”
These tracks and all others on the new album draw from his personal experiences keeping and breeding finches and doves in a small aviary in his Baltimore home.
The tracks were engineered, produced, and mixed by Greg Hatem in Baltimore 2011-2012. The tracks were mastered by Matthew Leffler-Shulman at Mobtown Studios. Brian Henry photographed and designed the cover art.
In May of 2012 Hatem collaborated on a Cloud Seeding single which you can watch here. The Cloud Seeding project also features vocalists Marissa Nadler and Nadine Carina.
Greg used to drum in the now defunct Boston band Tulsa with Carter Tanton and now drums for Baltimore’sMr. Moccasin.
