Acclaimed Norwegian rock act KVELERTAK has released the first video from their recording session at Godcity Studios in Salem, Mass. with Kurt Ballou (Converge). The band recently commented on what’s in store for the next album with the following: “All I can say is, this album is going to fuck the first album in the ass. Hard.”
The band — having previously performed at SXSW, as well as a short tour with Skeletonwitch last fall — will be headed on their first extensive U.S. tour this October alongside Converge and Torche. Nails, Coalesce, and Whips/Chains will also be performing on select dates which can be found listed below. The band has recently been seen conquering Europe’s prestigious festivals such as Sonisphere, Eurosonic and Reading.
KVELERTAK ‘s self-titled debut album was certified as Gold in their home country and earned the group praise from Kerrang as “the best Norwegian band since A-Ha.” The critically-acclaimed release earned 9/10 ratings from Metal Hammer, Decibel and Rock Hard magazines and even led to the band performing a live session on BBC Radio 1. Limited to only 6,000 copies worldwide, a deluxe CD/DVD edition of the album — which, like the original version, features artwork from John Dyer Baizley (Baroness, Kylesa) — can still be purchased in INDIE RECORDINGS webshop.
