Don’t Ever Tell Her No is a track that will resonate loudly with anyone that has been in a relationship. Don’t Ever Tell Her No ties together college rock, rockabilly, and even sprinkles in hints of They Might Be Giants and B-52. The bouncy beat of the track is tied together with a story-telling nature, hearkening back to the blues tradition. Thru Lovin’ You continues the trend of high-energy and catchy effort, but The Serenaders spin the lyrics into a decidedly different direction. This song showcases the ability to just cut ties, ending a relationship while still walking high. The interplay between the guitars and vocals on Thru Lovin’ You provides the track with considerable legs. Darlin’ It’s You ties together past and present in the distinct segments of the song; the guitars touch upon sixties country even as the vocals draw from The Replacements and Cake. Darlin’ It’s You is a track that comes out strong but has the chops that are necessary to make this memorable. The bass line adds a fullness to the track, allowing The Serenaders to easily fill a pair of headphones or a living room.

How Come is another hit for The Serenaders; the band ties together early Green Day with the work of artists as disparate as John Denver. The Serenaders wear their heart on their sleeve, and this stylistic decision makes the band’s EP a must-have.

The EP ends with Roll Away, a track that provides listeners with ample opportunity to hear where The Serenaders have been and where they are looking to go in the future. Check out their website for more information about the band, live dates, song samples and biographies
