Kvelertak have premiered their forthcoming Roadrunner Records debut, MEIR, over at Stereogum. MEIR, which arrives March 26th, features the single, “Bruane Brenn” and is the highly anticipated follow-up to the band’s break out self-titled album which earned them critical praise worldwide. Produced by Converge’s Kurt Ballou (High on Fire, Torche), MEIR marks an indisputable milestone for Kvelertak. Tracks such as “Evig Vandrar” and the brutal “Nekrokosmos” see the band melding breakneck energy, tight rhythms, and consistently inventive hooks, riffs, and melodies to construct a distinctive sonic universe all their own. MEIR – which features cover art by Baroness’ John Dyer Baizley – is currently available for pre-order on the iTunes Store and via the official Roadrunner Records webstore. Furthermore, Kvelertak have unveiled details of a major North American headline tour deemed, “MEIR TOUR – NORTH AMERICA 2013” which kicks off April 21st at Chicago’s Bottom Lounge (see attached itinerary).
