Matthew Hemerlein, the vocalist and multi-instrumentalist behind Lo-Fang, who is classically trained in violin, cello, bass, piano and guitar, performed all of the instruments on Blue Film. The album was written and recorded in a farmhouse in Maryland, hotels and studios in Cambodia, London, Nashville, and completed in the legendary Capitol Studios in Los Angeles. This highly musical, detailed album has roots in electronic, R&B, classical, and folk music, all cast through a pop prism.
