SanTan Brewing Company’s MoonJuice is a fruity and piney India Pale Ale (IPA) that is eminently drinkable, hiding away a 7.3% ABV perfectly among hoppy and grainy elements. Pouring from a can, MoonJuice pours with a yellowish-gold to light orange coloration and a decent amount of whitish head. Hints of peach, pineapple, and orange can be discerned, while the bitter elements of the beer keep the brew crisp; a good amount of carbonation keeps this light and airy, even if the flavors that are presented to imbibers are bold and in your face.

A slight burn concludes each sip, making the beer a perfect purchase for the slight chill of the autumn months. When the hoppy elements begin to fade, the sharpness of the alcohol present becomes more evident. It is the scintillating tastes and flavors of the MoonJuice that makes it heads and shoulders above other American IPAs. The MoonJuice Galactic IPA would do perfectly paired with fish, chicken, strong cheeses or a variety of fruits (grapes, raspberries). A good amount of malt utilized in the MoonJuice Galactic IPA means that the beer is able to maintain its coherence from the moment one opens a can (or has it on draft) until that point when they take in the last sips of the IPA.
We have reviewed a number of SanTan efforts in the past, including Count Hopula, Supermonk Belgian IPA, and Oktoberfest.
