Setting down with DownTown Mystic

We’ve been lucky enough to interview DownTown Mystic in April of last year. In the 18 (or so) months since then, what has changed for DownTown Mystic? There’s been a lot going on. We’ve recorded a new project called Rock’n’Roll Romantic and I decided to take on social media as a full time job to start promoting it. And when I say full time job, I’m not kidding. I can…

Keez – Water Creatures

Laidback techno / electronic sound that builds off of a late nineties / early oughts style, Keez’s Water Creatures is an album that goes through a number of different twists and turns before ending. Wake Up Calm is a traditional reggae sound that will impress due to a taut instrumentation and a complete sound that allows the vocals, drums, guitar, and a ropy bass ample time to shine. Give N…

bitter’s Kiss Love Won’t Make You Cry Review

Love Won’t Make You Cry is bitter’s Kiss’ latest single off of their self-titled full length from earlier this year, a tremendously impactful track that will stick with fans long after it has ceased to play. The track is tender and shows tremendous vocal ability by Chloe. The instrumentation that plays at the background of the single establishes a solid backdrop for this emotionally-charged delivery. Chloe’s vocals do double duty…

Sesame Street: Play All Day With Elmo DVD Review

OK Go have lent their inimitable musical style and unmatched charisma in their “Three Primary Colors”, while the musical side of the DVD continues with Taye Diggs and Elmo’s duet (“Let’s Go Driving”). Ziggy Marley spins things off into a reggae / pop style with his version of Simon Says. Matching current musicians with a more child-friendly subject material increases the replay value of the Play All Day With Elmo…

Just Add SPICE – Parenting For Happy, Healthy Kids (DVD)

Myself and the wife do not have any kids at this time, but we may just have to put this DVD time that time when we do. This is due to the great educational merit of Just Add Spice, which is more for the parents than it is for their children. While ultimately, the tool does provide the child with a great hand up, Just Add Spice showcases the way…

Shark Bait (Miami Brewing Company)

Shark Bait is Miami Brewing Company’s wheat beer that separates itself from the pack with the inclusion of mangoes. The beer pours with a hazy golden color and a fair amount of white head that sits on top of the effort pretty consistently. There is only a minor amount of lacing that appears at points during one’s journey with the beer, even as the foam on the top of the…
