The traditional sound of Western Sky means that the song could easily be on a classic hits station and hang perfect with The Carpenters or Carole King. The instrumentation contributes greatly to this overall sound. The dense growth that comprises the backing instrumentation will continue to surprise listeners a number of times after Western Sky’s initial play. Rising and falling, Western Sky is able to create a modern take on the easy-going rock style of the 1970s. I want to hear more from Todd Mosby and the New Horizons Ensemble; watch the video for Western Sky below.
