About half of all CBD consumers have ditched their prescription drugs, says a survey done by Florida-based Brightfield Group. In teaming with HelloMD, an online community of doctors and cannabis patients, to analyze the medical paths of 2,400 of HelloMD’s users, many truths were discovered in this study and it has gained national attention even by large news outlets, like Forbes.
The finding is striking to the public, and most from the green lifestyle are glad that it’s in the news, as it pushes cannabis products farther into legitimate territory – both in the health world and the legal one. Other pertinent findings arose including the fact that 55% of these CBD users were women. Current stereotypes were shattered by that one!
Among the top reasons to use CBD for said users were for the treatment of insomnia, depression, anxiety, and joint pain. Of the 2,400 users surveyed, 80% of respondents said they found the CBD products to be “very or extremely effective” while only 3% or less found the products to be ineffective or only slightly effective.
A note on consumption: the majority preferred to vape CBD products. Reportedly spending between $20 to $80 monthly on their CBD medicinal product, they stated that traditional flower and herb use was second on the list and edibles was third.
“This landmark survey, in terms of its size and depth, shows the tremendous value that these products have for patients,” says Dr. Perry Solomon, Chief Medical Officer of HelloMD. “Hopefully, access for products such as these will help patients all across the country who cannot obtain medication that contains THC.”
