Shadow of Whales’ “Runaway” is a tremendously catchy single, with nods not only to the Brit-pop of acts like Blur, but to current punk/power-pop acts like Walk The Moon and late Good Charlotte.
The confidence of the guitars and drums during Runaway are able to push the vocals into a special place, while the ethereal sound of the vocals and the addition of synthesizers to the mix make for an effort that will stick with fans long after the single ceases to play. Runaway is a rock track that is destined for radio and playlist inclusion; we hope to hear more from Shadow of Whales in 2018.
