Shane Palko’s “Sunrise In Bangkok” is a timeless effort that is reverent of performers like Ben Harper and Elliott Smith. Numerous twists and turns dot the track, as Palko is able to whip in hints of blues, 1990s alternative, and the punctuality of modern jazz into an easy-going (with a tinge of melancholy) indie rock style. Over the course of 4 minutes, Palko is able to take listeners on a journey that is as beautiful as the titular event. Palko’s able to imprint his own unique style on this effort, which is a mainstay at NeuFutur headquarters this spring.
