C. Shirock has reinvigorated the new wave style of the 1980s with hints of modern EDM and a crispness that is unmatched in the production. His vocals are able to do double duty in establishing a narrative as well as further varying the single’s arrangements. The dynamic between the ample synths and C. Shirock’s vocals is nothing less than impressive; the addition of a guitar at around the 3-minute mark provides a further boost to the single’s momentum. The bold sounds embraced by Stand With Me Tonight will remain with listeners long after the single ceases to play.
