One of the most common procedures undergone by people who are seeking plastic surgery is the nose job. A nose job, also known as a rhinoplasty, is an effective way to change the shape and definition of the nose for the rest of that person’s life.

For the longest time rhinoplasty was an exclusively surgical procedure. This meant that patients had to be put asleep and then go under the knife to get their desired results. Any surgical procedure comes with risks of complications, and on top of that surgery is extremely invasive in and of itself. But as time as soldiered on there are newer ways to receive a rhinoplasty that don’t involve surgery at all. The two most common forms of non-surgical nose jobs would be through the use of injectable fillers or through a nose thread lift.

Many people are still apprehensive about these non-surgical procedures for a few different reasons, and I’m here to explain why they just aren’t true:

Myth #1: Non-Surgical Nose Jobs Aren’t As Effective

While this may have been true at one point while these procedures were in their infancy, going through a procedure like a nose thread lift can have results that look just as good as their surgical counterparts without the same level of risk. Providers like UbiqiHealth have more information with a procedure like the nose thread lift that can be done in as little as 30 minutes and have results that last for approximately 1-2 years. A simple 30 minute procedure that has very few risks of complications, the nose thread lift is gaining popularity as an alternative to invasive surgical procedures.

Myth #2: Non-Surgical Nose Jobs Aren’t Safe

At first people were much more comfortable remaining with the surgical option because of its proven track record, or at least predictable safety outcomes. There are tons of horror stories about botched non-surgical nose jobs, almost as much as there are about botched surgical ones by this point. But a procedure like a nose thread lift is actually incredibly safe and one of the better options if you are worried about what to do next if you don’t like the finished result. With a nose thread lift, there is no risk of necrosis (cell death). For those worried if they don’t like their end result, the nose threads are completely absorbable and dissolve completely within 6-12 months. This is why the procedure needs to be repeated every 1-2 years. It may be inconvenient to some, but knowing that eventually your nose will return to its pre-procedure state is a great safety blanket for many.

I foresee that in the future that non-surgical nose jobs will be incredibly popular as people decide they aren’t comfortable going under the knife for a complete cosmetic procedure. With the ability to see results that are on par with their surgical counterparts and the fact that the procedure naturally reverses itself over time, people are seeing that they do in fact have nothing to lose and everything to gain by experimenting with a non-surgical option. On top of it all, the non-surgical options require much less healing time, so there will be less of an impact on an individual’s day to day life as a consequence.
